The best thing I heard all day was definitely the new upload from This American Life, called In Defense of Ignorance [April 24, 1 hour]. Act one is particularly fascinating, I think. Lulu Wang tells the story of her grandmother's stage four cancer diagnosis and her family's elaborate plot to keep it hidden from her. I was appalled at first -- I'd definitely want to know if I had three months to live, right? -- but by the end, I wasn't so sure. When it comes to terminal cancer, maybe ignorance really is bliss. This episode was such a great listen, and it was by far the best thing I heard all day. Check it out if you haven't yet -- especially the first act.
